Mad World è una canzone del gruppo inglese Tears for Fears, scritta da Roland Orzabal e cantata dal bassista Curt Smith.
È stata pubblicata come terzo singolo estratto dall'album di debutto del gruppo The Hurting, ed è stato il primo singolo ad ottenere popolarità, raggiungendo la terza posizione della UK Singles Chart nel novembre 1982, ed entrando nelle classifiche di diversi paesi nel mondo. Nel 2001 Gary Jules e Michael Andrews hanno realizzato una cover dell'album per la colonna sonora del film Donnie Darko Una cover del brano è presente anche nell'album Heart di Elisa, uscito in Italia il 13 novembre 2009.
